Suspected Killer Found Dead In Truck

"FREMONT, NH — A man suspected of killing a woman whose body was discovered inside her Main Street apartment early Friday morning was found dead of an apparent suicide several hours later, authorities said.

"The man was located inside his truck about a mile away from the home at 296 Main St., where state and local police converged sometime around 5 a.m. after receiving a report of an unresponsive female at the home.

"The state attorney general’s office said the woman was the victim of a homicide and that the man suspected in the death was an `acquaintance.`

"Assistant Attorney General Jay McCormack said investigators are looking into the nature of their relationship to `maybe shed light on why this occurred.`

"Authorities have not released the names of the man and woman pending notification of family members. They also haven’t said how either of them died. McCormack said an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

"The homicide came as a shock to this town of more than 4,400. Town Historian Matthew Thomas said the death is the first homicide to occur in Fremont, which this year is celebrating its 250th anniversary."
