Bodies Of Pair Sent To Crime Lab


"GRANTVILLE, GA — The Meriwether County Sheriff's Office says they are investigating a deadly shooting they believe is the result of a murder/suicide.

"Investigators say it happened around 7:30 a.m. Sunday at a home on Roswell Lee Road near Grantville, GA.

"The victims have been identified as Tammie Tameke Beasley, 36, of 730 Roswell Lee Road, Grantville, GA, and Willie James Beasley, Jr., 42, of the same address.

"Both bodies were sent to the GBI crime lab in DeKalb County.

"Meriwether County Coroner Johnny Worley made the death pronouncements at the scene.

"The caller, an 18-year-old inside the home, witnessed her father shoot her mother. She gathered her three other siblings, ranging from ages four to 14, and fled the home on foot.

"Sheriff Chuck Smith says the young woman said her father was attempting to barricade himself inside the residence."
