No Time To Change The Locks

"CEDAR HILL, TX — Cedar Hill police are investigating an attempted murder/suicide Thursday involving a woman and her ex-boyfriend.

"The victim, a 33-year-old woman who has not been identified, was shot multiple times but survived, city spokesman Corky Brown said. Kamau Harvey, the 32-year-old suspect, died from a self-inflicted wound.

"Brown said the woman was changing her door locks about 11 a.m. Thursday when Harvey showed up at the house on South Sims Drive.

"A repairman who was fixing the woman’s garage door told police the two were arguing when the victim started walking toward the back door of the home and called 911. Police said Harvey followed her outside into the alley, pulled out a gun and shot her repeatedly.

"He then shot himself after he saw the woman’s neighbors observing the commotion from their fences, Brown said.

"The woman has two children who were not home when the shooting occurred, Brown said.

"He said received several disturbance calls in the weeks leading up to the incident, but did not know whether any of those calls were domestic-violence related."
